Latex and Butyl Bladders
Latex Bladder Characteristics:
Soft, bouncy, ideal for use on grass. Latex rubber has greater air permeability than butyl rubber, meaning that the air slowly seeps out over time. Sports balls with latex bladders need to be inflated before use.
Butyl Bladder Characteristics:
Low levels of air leakage lets you keep the air pressure at a more constant level. Best for use on hard surfaces.
Hand Sewn Soccer Ball Construction
A perfect spherical shape, an accurate trajectory, outstanding durability and soft feel; satisfying all the demands placed on a top-quality ball requires precise manufacturing, advanced technology and superior craftsmanship. At Molten, we carry out strict quality controls at each stage of the manufacturing process. A ball needs to pass every one of these inspections before we adorn it with the Molten logo, a symbol of uncompromising quality.
A strengthening fabric, specially developed for our hand-sewn sports balls, is coated with glue.
Next, the synthetic leather and the strengthening fabric are glued together tightly.
The panels are cut out using cutting machine.
The quality of each of the leather panel is checked. A hole for the valve opening is cut into one of the panels.
The Molten logo and text is printed onto the surface using a special ink.
The panels are weighted to determine the weight of the bladder. Super-strength glue prevents the valve opening and the panels from coming apart.
The panels are sewn together by hand. Even the most highly skilled worker needs about three hours to finish a single ball.
The finished ball is weighed.
The ball's circumference is carefully measured.
The overall look and feel is checked according to strict criteria.
Only balls that pass all of these tests are allowed to leave the factory.
